Who better than our lovely customers to tell us about their excursions in a campervan?

So we leave the floor, or rather the pen, to Roseline and Lionel, a couple as curious as they are epicurean and friendly, who left for the occasion to discover the natural park of the Brière with our van hire!

Road trip in a campervan in the heart of the Briere.

"After three experiences in a campervan, it is with impatience, curiosity and desire that at the beginning of September, we took possession of our Ford Nugget Plus campervan at the WeVan agency in Nantes / St Herblain.

We discover a model that is taller, longer and closer to a van, compared to the other vans we hired previously. Very quickly, we take our marks on board our campervan.

Very centrally located, hire a van in Nantes allows us to easily reach the first stage of our road trip in Briere.

First stop. We take out the table and chairs on the grass near the campervan. We read and play board games. The sky lights are magical and reflect on the water in the background. We even capture a few pictures from our phone, the urge is so irresistible!

Then we head for a pier, in the heart of the Brière marshes, towards Saint Lyphard. The sun is shining again and the heat is increasing. The place is perfect for a boat trip. It's a great moment! And to top it all off, we discovered lots of wading birds as we went deeper into the marshes.

We continue with Guérande, for a visit of the heritage in a van".

"Change of scenery again... and what a scenery: the salt pans! We are alone with silence as master of ceremonies. The wind intensifies and cools down the atmosphere. Our down jackets and chèches are de rigueur. We wander through the salt marshes, observing the horizon. We even witness a rainbow!

It's aperitif time and buckwheat crisps and cider pearls delight our taste buds!

Finally, to end this long day, we cook wholemeal buckwheat pancakes in our rented van. This dish has warmed us up a lot! The day ends around 11:30 pm. We already know that the night will be good. Indeed, the silence of the place envelops us until the early morning."

WeVan tip: on a road trip, there are always flavours to explore along your route. Small producers to visit, local markets to stroll through, know-how to discover, and above all, products to bring back and taste on board or at the foot of your rental campervan.

"The next day, we headed for Piriac sur Mer and its local market where we bought oysters. Facing the sea, at the foot of the van hire, sitting on the rocks, we taste them with a glass of white wine. The wind has died down, the sun is stronger, the tide is low, and the horizon is covered with boats... It's good to stay on this spot!

 

A memorable van hire road trip.

During these few days, we forgot our daily life, our comfort and we became one with our campervan hire! We went around it so much, opened it, closed it, arranged it, tidied it, cleaned it, saw it from every angle, that we missed it for a long time. We were on cloud nine and it took us a while to land when we got back to our everyday lives. The experience worked like a charm. You don't have to go far to get a change of scenery. The concept of a road trip in a campervan is enough to cut us off from our habits and to reinvent our days!

When we arrived in Saint Herblain, we emptied the van's cupboards, swept the floor without erasing the good memories we had just experienced.
