What is the minimum age to hire a campervan?
There is no minimum age requirement for hiring a WeVan campervan, although drivers must have held a valid driving licence for at least 24 months.
Can a young driver (who has had a licence for less than 3 years) drive a campervan?
A young driver can hire a campervan if they have held a valid licence for at least 24 months. In this case, the young driver can hire our full range of campervans: 2 berth, 4 berth or 5 berth.
Do you need a special licence to hire a campervan?
No, you do not need a special licence to hire a campervan. A valid category B licence is all you need to hire a campervan.
Do you take travellers’ cheques as payment for campervan hire?
Travellers’ cheques are accepted as payment for campervan hire at the discretion of each WeVan rental agency. Although the vast majority accept travellers’ cheques, please contact the agency from which you plan to hire your campervan for confirmation of this.
Is there a minimum campervan hire period?
No, there is no minimum campervan hire period - you can book one for half an hour if you like! However, rates vary according to the length of the hire period, so the price of such a rental would not be very competitive.
How can I get unlimited mileage for my campervan hire?
We do not offer an unlimited mileage option for campervan hire. We include a flat rate per kilometre calculated based on your model and the campervan hire period. For example, if you hire a Renault Trafic campervan, 250 km per day is included in the van hire price. If you are going to exceed this limit, we offer flat rates for additional mileage.
Can I hire a campervan if I have points on my licence?
Yes, you can hire a campervan even if you have points on your licence. To drive our campervans, you must abide by the Highway Code and the WeVan General Rental Terms.
I have an international driving licence. Can I still hire a campervan?
Yes, you can hire a campervan with an international driving licence if it is recognised by the French authorities, written in French or accompanied by a translation. If these conditions are met, you can hire any of our campervans, from 2 berth to 5 berth.
How much is the security deposit to hire a campervan?
The amount of the security deposit to hire a campervan depends on the level of protection you take out. You can reduce the amount of the deposit for a small campervan if you choose the Medium or Premium protection pack by paying the cost of these optional extras.
I’ve made a request to hire a campervan, but I haven’t had a reply. What should I do?
If you’ve made a request to hire a campervan from WeVan but you haven’t heard back from us, we apologise and recommend calling the agency of your choice so we can process your van hire request as quickly as possible.
Do you sell your old rental campervans?
Yes, we often sell our rental campervans after around 8-18 months of use. For information on our campervans for sale and to find out the price of a campervan, please call your closest WeVan agency or check our used van sales website.
