Since 2010, we’ve been working to make your van hire experience easy, clear and accessible! To hire a campervan or motorhome, you can book online or go directly to the WeVan branch of your choice.

Hiring a campervan from the website is simple: after choosing your departure town from among our 35 branches, then your travel dates, we’ll suggest all the vans available for that combination. If other models are available on dates close by or in other branches nearby, we’ll suggest them too. Once you’ve chosen your preferred hire van, you can select options such as additional mileage or drivers, protection packages (insurance, excess and assistance) or services and equipment. Then all you have to do is fill in your details and pay at least 50% of your campervan hire charge to confirm the booking.

If the World Wide Web isn’t your cup of tea, don’t panic, one of the strengths of the WeVan network is that it provides real rental branches and real people who are passionate about what they do! So feel free to come and meet us (or give us a call) to hire your motorhome directly from our branches... over a cup of coffee.

At WeVan, campervan hire costs the same in a branch or on the website. However, hiring a van in Paris or Marseille, Brittany or the Alps, may not be exactly the same price. Campervan hire prices may vary by location... but there is consistency across the country of course!

The price of campervan hire from WeVan depends on many factors, such as seasonality, reductions based on the length of your trip and the campervan range you choose. Prices are also dynamic, and booking in advance often enables you to benefit from cheap campervan hire. For example, it’s a good idea to hire a campervan in January or February for your spring or summer holidays.

Of course, you need to be able to plan your holidays well in advance. Or even just want to. But perhaps you belong to the brotherhood of last-minute libertarians, fierce defenders of your right to play it by ear? For this reason we also try to offer an affordable campervan hire policy thanks to cheap last-minute deals. These can provide attractive discounts... but often with more restrictive choices in terms of models or dates. As you can tell, it comes back to the thing about having your cake and eating it.

Finally, if you want to benefit from cheap van hire and are able to do so, try to plan your trip outside school holidays or major bank holiday weekends. Not only will you be able to hire a campervan at the best price, you’ll probably be a lot more relaxed on the roads and at your camping spots!

Yes, it’s easy to cancel your campervan hire from WeVan. Your cancellation is free of charge and we’ll refund the full amount paid in two scenarios: if you cancel less than 48 hours after booking or at least 30 days before the departure date of your van hire.

It is, of course, possible to cancel your van hire outside these times, but you’ll still be liable for 50% of the total cost of the hire.

In all circumstances, to cancel your motorhome hire, you must send a written request by e-mail to your WeVan hire branch, quoting your booking number.

During your campervan rental, damage caused to third parties, as well as bodily injury and material damage to the vehicle, are covered by our insurance policies.

Apart from any exclusions, this cover includes an excess. The excess is the maximum amount, per claim, that remains payable by you when the damage is covered by the insurance. The amount of your excess is detailed when you make your booking online or at a branch, and is then stated on your contract.
You can reduce the amount of the excess remaining payable by taking out various partial excess buyback options right up to the departure time of your campervan hire.

In the event of a breakdown or accident during your campervan hire, you will also benefit from an assistance service.

The security deposit is intended to cover WeVan for all or part of any payment you may owe in the event of damage, fuel shortages on return from your van hire, or the payment of fines, for example.

The amount of the security deposit is equal to the amount of the excess. It is paid before the start of your van rental and takes the form of a debit authorisation on your payment card. You must present a payment card in your name (named person on the booking) with sufficient funds available.

The deposit is retained for the duration of the van hire period and returned in full as soon as possible, as long as there is no event incurring your financial liability.

Only the lead person named on the booking may drive during the campervan or motorhome hire period. Of course, you can add as many additional drivers as you wish. Additional drivers can be added at the time of booking and up to the van hire departure date at the latest.

When hiring a campervan, the only requirement to be able to drive is to be in possession of a valid ordinary French driving licence (B) (or an international licence or licence from a European country, even from a non-European country if it is written in French or has an official translation with it).
