Campervan fishing trips in the Basque Country

On the edge of the Bay of Biscay, stretching over France and Spain, is the Basque Country, an ideal playground for all nature lovers. Its outstanding river network holds a solid reputation among trout fishermen from all over the world. Indeed, its landscape is carved by thousands of kilometres of trout rivers’ valleys, promising extraordinary fishing trips. Here, at the heart of the French vanlife culture, the fisherman receives a royal treatment.

The fish of Basque Country

The rivers in the Basque Country host a particularly high density of wild trouts. We can easily recognize them for their distinctive black-spotted coat that originated their nickname the « panther ». To succeed in tricking one of these tenacious and cunning beauties of nature remains an everlasting challenge for both the transient fisherman and the fishing weekends’ amateur !

A typical day with Glenn

When you first meet over a homemade coffee at the beginning of your fishing weekend, Glenn will listen to your expectations. This first conversation enables him to decide on the most appropriate circuits that would best fit what you are looking for. Whatever your level is, his guiding principle is to take your practise one step further, advancing your skills. Therefore, a day with him will look like a series of various scenarios by the water, in which he will alternate practice, theory, observation and exploration of the river’s environment. Slowly, these exercises will have you reach the goals you formerly set with Glenn, that go from learning gestures, discovering new techniques or improving your cast.
